World Cup 2014

can't believe this time last year we were in Brazil for the 2014 World Cup! So much has happened since but this experience was truly once in a lifetime. Over four years in the making, starting with a traveling party of eight whittling down to three, nine months of meticulous planning and six weeks of jam packed awesomeness. The recap will be fairly epic but if you're not huge football fanatics like we are it may all read the same to you.

We saw a total of 11 matches including all 3 Australian games, visited 11 of the 12 host cities and just as a reference Brazil is actually larger than Australia in land mass so we traveled a lot!

It was grueling in some legs with back to back matches but mostly awe inspiring being part of such a huge worldly celebration of the beautiful game. As much as we were cautioned about the potential hazards of Brazil, the locals we met on our journey particularly our Airbnb hosts could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. The only thing I wouldn't rate highly in Brazil is the cuisine, too much overdone meat covered in cheese for my liking.

We'll cover the details of this trip intermittently over the next few months. Stay tuned!
