A Day in Dubai

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

We were in sunny Dubai yesterday on our leisurely way home, partly an extended stop over slash mini holiday for Linda but as per usual, my darling Ari had work on the agenda attending a traffic exhibition. I don't complain because it allows me to explore but it's not too fun on you're own so his short business trips are ideal :)

As we said goodbye to Bahrain for holidays back home, I finally managed to get a cool picture of the World Trade Centre on the way to the airport. Not sure how effective the wind turbines are but they sure look awesome.

So whilst Ari attended the exhibition, I went to the mall... I know, these posts are getting rather repetitive as it seems all I appear to be doing is shopping but these malls are seriously awesome! Dubai mall not only has an aquarium inside but is also attached to the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa. I have never needed to tilt my head back so far to see all of a building before :)

Burj Khalifa in Dubai, tallest building in the world at 828m high. Really impressive!

And at night they put on this amazing water fountain and lighting display to music every half hour. We had dinner with Ari's bosses (all the important ones including CEO and CFO!) at a Japanese/Italian restaurant, Scoozi. Yes that is correct, they can serve you sashimi and miso soup with a side of pizza, a culinary dream for the indecisive eater lol
